BURLINGTON, Iowa —  While the current occupant flying on Air Force One between Dayton, Ohio and El Paso, Texas, the two cities hit with senseless mass murders, former Vice President Joe Biden, the leading candidate for the 2020 Democratic Party’s presidential nomination, blasted President Donald Trump for unleashing “the deepest, darkest forces in this nation.”

“As president Trump’s anger, hate and divisiveness – pitting Americans against one another, preying on our divisions, and doing nothing – nothing – about the epidemic of guns  is fueling a literal American Carnage.”

“We now have more mass shootings than we’ve had days in this year. As of Monday, according to data from the Gun Violence Archive, there have been 255 mass shootings in 217 days,” said Biden in a strong speech denouncing white supremacy that Trump has embraced throughout his two-and-half year presidency and has defended through his ongoing rhetoric that contain strong racial overtones.”

Biden says Trump has not led with moral leadership.

“Presidents who led, who opposed hate, chose to fight for what is best of the American character. Sadly, we don’t have that today. Our president has aligned himself with the darkest forces in this nation. And that makes winning this battle – for the soul of our nation – that much harder,” said Biden.

“We are in a battle for the soul of this nation,” stated Biden.
