Yurok Tribal Chair to Testify in Support of H.R. 1312

WASHINGTON — On Thursday, September 19, Joe James, the chairman of the Yurok Tribe, will make testimony before the U.S. House of Representative’s Subcommittee for Indigenous Peoples of the United States, Natural Resources Committee, in favor of the Yurok Lands Act of 2019 (H.R. 1312).

The bill will allow the Yurok Tribe the right to help manage its own land by granting the Tribe a seat at the table with the National Parks, other federal government agencies.
