Wisconsin Department of Transportation Presents BDC with Tribal Excellence Award

LAC DU FLAMBEAU, Wis. — LDF Business Development Corporation (BDC) today announced it has received a Tribal Excellence Award from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT). Randy Soulier, BDC chief operating officer, accepted the award on behalf of all BDC teammates and regional partners at this year’s Wisconsin Tribal Transportation Conference in Green Bay.
WisDOT recognized BDC for its efforts to advance the Workforce Development & Business Training Center in the Lac du Flambeau Business Park, and its work with LDF Construction, a BDC business unit, to secure federal and state certifications.
“Our team works diligently to position our businesses for success in the private sector and now in the government contracting space as well,” Soulier says. “Alongside our partners, we are developing a foundation to create more jobs and build self-sustaining economic futures for people in the region.”
WisDOT Tribal Excellence Awards recognize individuals, organizations and businesses who have made exemplary contributions and service to building and enhancing partnerships with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and Wisconsin Tribal communities.
“The Workforce Development & Business Training Center is another foundational building block to ultimately create a scalable, vibrant and sustainable business development model,” Soulier says. “This training and business development center is designed to become a skilled workforce hub, providing the resources, training and skills required for sustainable careers throughout the region.”
LDF Construction’s certification to participate in the U.S. Small Business Administration 8(a) Business Development Program and the Wisconsin Department of Administration’s Minority Business Enterprise Program help LDF Construction compete for direct-bid contracts as well as jumpstart partnerships and alliances with other organizations.
“LDF Construction already has seen how these certifications support the BDC mission of creating more jobs and revenue,” Soulier says. “LDF Construction has secured four federal construction projects from the U.S. government. We also have benefitted from partnerships with other contractors in this space as we continue to grow and evolve our construction business.”
